Thomas Lickona
Author of Educating for Character: How Schools can Teach Respect and Responsibility, Raising Good Children and other boooks on the subject

Dr. Lickona is a developmental psychologist and Professor of Education at the State University of New York, where he has done award-winning work in teacher education and currently directs the Center of the Fourth and Fifth R's (Respect and Responsibility). He has also been a visiting professor at Boston and Harvard Universities.


A past president of the Association for Moral Education, Dr. Lickona now serves on the board of directors of the Character Education Partnership, a national coalition working to promote character development. He is also a member of the advisory boards of the Character Counts Coalition and the Medical Institute for Sexual Health.
