Steven Emerson is an independent investigative journalist and terrorism analyst who specializes in Middle East terrorism. For his 1994 documentary Jihad in America, he received the George Polk Award for excellence in journalism and the Investigative Reporters and Editors' Award for best national investigation into criminal activity. His investigation has been cited as the basis for the introduction of President Clinton's Omnibus anti-Terror Legislation. As an expert on terrorism and Islamic fundamentalism, Emerson has testified before Congressional Committees and has briefed US law enforcement and intelligence agencies. His work has appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, New Republic and other publications. He is the author of four books, including Terrorist and The Fall of Pan Am 103, and is presently at work on a new documentary series and book about radical Islamic fundamentalist networks.
