
As Executive Director of Corporate Equity, she created and ran The Johnson & Johnson Campaign for Nursing's Future, a $50 million initiative which has helped alleviate the worldwide nursing shortage by increasing appreciations for the Nursing profession; funding nursing student scholarships and nurse faculty fellowships; providing nurse management training; providing recruitment materials to all schools; helping nursing organizations advocate for nurses and for patients; and much more. Nancy was voted an honorary member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing. The Johnson & Johnson Campaign for Nursing's Future was awarded the 2004-2005 Ron L. Brown Award for Corporate Leadership from the White House.
In February 2006 Nancy created The Caregiver Initiative, which includes the comprehensive website www.strengthforcaring.com. The Caregiver Initiative helps family caregivers get the information and resources they need to care for their loved one, while learning how to reduce their own stress. The Initiative is working with Centers for Medicare and Medicare Services (CMS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and many leading not-for-profit and educational organizations to create programs to help protect the health of family caregivers. Www.strengthforcaring.com won a FREDDIE (International Health and Medical Media Award) from MediMedia, was recently awarded the American Society on Aging's Business Forum on Aging Large Business Award.
