James S. Robbins is Senior Editorial Writer for Foreign Affairs at the Washington Times, and Executive Director of the American Security Council Foundation. Dr. Robbins holds a Ph.D. and Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Medford, Massachusetts. He also has Masters and Bachelors degrees in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati. He has taught at The Fletcher School, Boston University, Marine Corps University, National Defense University and other schools. He served in government for ten years, and in 2007 was awarded the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joint Meritorious Civilian Service Award. Dr. Robbins is author of This Time We Win: Rethinking the The Offensive and Last in Their Class: Custer, Pickett and the Goats of West Point. His political commentaries have appeared in The National Review, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and other publications. He is a frequent commentator on national and international television and radio.

1. National security issues -- this is my principle area of focus, particularly issues like terrorism, Afghanistan, Iran, and other current controversies.

2. The U.S. Civil War -- based on my first book, which had a lot of Civil War content. The 150th anniversary of the war is nearing so this might be a topic of interest to many.

3. The Vietnam War -- based on my upcoming book on the Tet Offensive, which will be out in September.
