His vast war experience has spanned the violent coup in Chile and the Yom Kippur War to the civil wars in Guatemala, the Philippines and Nicaragua as well as the ethnic conflicts in Lebanon (1980-83) and Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo (1998-1999). In 2000, he went to Colombia to cover the country’s civil war.
Geraldo Rivera joined FOX News Channel (FNC) in November 2001 as a war correspondent. He was immediately stationed in Afghanistan to cover Operation Enduring Freedom and later in Bethlehem to cover the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In July 2002, Rivera was named investigative reporter for FOX Broadcasting’s summer newsmagazine "The Pulse," returning to his investigative journalism roots. Most recently, he covered the Iraqi elections from Baghdad.
