
Dr. Elie Krakowski "knows more about Afghanistan than just about any man on American soil," according to Tony Snow of Fox News. Dr. Krakowski is a Senior Fellow at the American Foreign Policy Council in Washington, DC, and at the Central Asia/Caucasus Institute of the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. From 1982 to 1988 he was the Special Assistant to the US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy and has participated actively in various aspects of US Public Diplomacy efforts and programs.
He has lectured widely throughout the US and abroad on international relations, international law, and national security affairs and is a recognized authority on international terrorism. A frequent guest on national radio and television programs, he has also written extensively on these topics, including "Bin Laden, the Taliban, and the future of Afghanistan" appearing in the December issue of Middle East Insight, and his upcoming book titled, The Politics of Blackmail: The Case of Small Wars.
