Dr. Antonio L. Betancourt is the Secretary General of the Summit Council for World Peace, an association of former heads of state and government established in 1981. He also serves as President of the World Institute for Development and Peace, a think tank devoted to economic and social justice and resource developer on ideas and technologies to address more effectively the problems of poverty.
