Dr. Pollinger Haas is a medical sociologist, is the Research Director of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Professor of Health Services at Lehman College of The City University of New York.

Dr. Haas directs the extramural research grants program, as well as the development, implementation, and evaluation of the College Screening Project, which uses an innovative, Internet-based approach to identify and encourage into treatment college students who are at risk of suicide.
