Dr. Andrew Urban received his medical degree in 1991 from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. He then completed residency training in internal medicine and a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

In 1998, he joined the faculty at the UW Medical School as a clinical assistant professor of medicine and accepted the appointment of chief of infectious diseases at the Wm. S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital. His area of clinical and research interest is the management of individuals with HIV/AIDS, and he is an attending physician in the University of Wisconsin HIV Care Program.

In 2004, Dr. Urban joined the University of Wisconsin Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) as faculty coordinator for CME content validation. His teaching activities include instruction in preclinical and clinical medical school courses, clinical training of internal medicine residents and fellows on infectious diseases, and local and regional continuing medical education programs for practicing physicians.
