Mitchell was NBC News' Chief White House correspondent from January 1993 until November 1994. She covered Bill Clinton during the 1992 Presidential campaign and was named to the White House post after Clinton's inauguration. During the primaries that season, she reported on the campaigns of all the major Democratic candidates.
