
Dr. Alan Keyes is formerly a Republican Presidential candidate. He served in the U. S. Foreign Service and on the staff of the National Security Council before being appointed Ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council by President Ronald Reagan in 1983. He was Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs from 1985 to 1987.
Following his tenure with the State Department, Ambassador Keyes was president of Citizens Against Government Waste, where he founded CAGW's National Taxpayer Action Day. A two-time Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Maryland and a 1996 GOP Presidential candidate. His political activism continues to challenge both liberal Democrats and those within his own party who fail to support the essential principles upon which the U.S. was founded.
